Sri Charan Singh Jan Kalyan Samiti (SCSJKS), India is a not-for-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) formed by our group of likeminded, compassionate professionals, coming out of small villages of India, having spent our early years of life experiencing the hardships and long standing challenges faced by the rural folk. After giving many years of our life to the corporate world, seeing and experiencing the best money can buy, we felt it was time to give back to the society, in whatever way we could.

We all believe that no problem is too small to be ignored. Or too big to be afraid of. Hence, we do not wait for people to come to us asking for solutions, we ourselves see the areas where we can contribute and then start making efforts in a practical and sustained manner.

Over the last few years, we have started work on:
01)  Providing care and shelter to elderly people.
02)  Empowering rural women by training them to make handicrafts and sourcing buyers for the finished product.
03)  Supplementing efforts of orphanages by indulging the children in entertainment, recreation and educational projects.

Project Old Age home:

Our team of concerned individuals from varied fields, sharing regard and concern for the old people, have come together to find a way out of the loneliness that most old people have to face. We have professionals, senior bureaucrats, university professors, artists, writers, judges, students – all people who sincerely feel for the cause. Our aim is to reach out to larger audience of older persons and act as a catalyst of change in bridging the gap between generations and ensuring respectful and comfortable life for old people. We wish to achieve this by providing them a place where they can live a comfortable and peacefull life.

We plan to build a residential old age home for our Senior Citizens where they can stay as long as they want, get all the basic comforts of life, entertainment and self respect which they so deserve. Anyone will be welcome to come and spend time with them, share their experiences, seek guidance from these treasure trove of experience and wisdom and let them feel once again that they are not “unwanted” in the society. The housemates will be encouraged to volunteer for social activities like organizing Yoga and Laughter Clubs in neighborhood parks, highlight the problems in the locality and help government organizations disseminate funds and knowledge where it is needed most.

Our small steps now will lead to a big result that we are confident of.

If you have a similar spark in you or a desire to do something for this cause, let’s join hands to make this dream into reality. You can contribute by way of donations in cash and kind as of now and as soon as the “home” is ready, you will be welcome to contribute with your time and service as well.
